Whenever I click "sign in" it does nothing.

Can't you "authorize" it from the YouTube app or webpage? I believe there are multiple ways to sign-in, but I don't know if they changed it. Like so?
I don't think I had to sign-in since my Google account is in my shield. On Xbox it's a code and going to YouTube.com/authorize and the same I had to do for my TV. Or you can use the youtube app which does the same as the website like in the pic I took.
Not sure I answered your question or helped, but just throwing out what I know.
Think it has to due with latest update with YouTube or play services. I have this issue with my nexus player when entering the app your automatically signed out and it won't log into your account
When I go into the YouTube app from the main screen it's fine, I have this problem when trying to watch a trailer from the shield games app.
Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same issue. I tried authorizing my TV, which worked, but I still can't sign in to YouTube. The sign in button does nothing.
