Mi Box and install Android 7 beta. No complaints on anything I use it for. Netflix, YouTube, Chrome cast, Spotify, Hulu, Fox Sports, Kodi, RetroArch, X-plore, etc. $70.

The best overall? Nvidia Shield of course, but $150 for a androidtv box still sounds absurd to me.

MiBox is the worst, video stutters are really getting annoying after using this for a year and the only update pushed was a security one, still no Android 7.0 update.

The best? NVIDIA Shield TV.

  1. easily worth every penny, but with a high buy-in
  2. has USB, so yeah
  3. the only device anyone can recommend if gaming is a priority
  4. I don't think any of them are objectively better than the other between Android TV, Roku, Apple TV, or Fire TV. This is a personal preference.
  5. Remote access as in accessing the storage remotely? Easy. Remote access as in controlling from a PC? There are apps for that.
  6. No idea, but you can sideload APKs for apps and also set it up on a VPN.

The others are pretty good if you can't stretch your budget to afford a Shield TV.
