It used to be on standby mode before and I wasn't even seeing sony and android logo before.
How much free space do you have? My Bravia was acting very strangely (lots of app crashes) until I realized it was almost out of storage space. Deleted a few apps (one in particular had downloaded lots of photos) and the problem went away.
I have the same problem with two xbr 800 series. I have never found a solution, but the last firmware update made it happen far less.
Step 1) avoid buying a smart TV when at all possible.
Alternatively, time to buy a set top box.
Upgrade the firmware.
