Can a tv remote control Nvidia volume through CEC?

by Max_Roc

I feel like a noob asking this, since I've had my STV for couple years but my CEC controls don't work correctly with it so I'm not sure what normal functions are.

Anyway, can a tv remote control Nvidia volume through CEC? If so, what settings need to be changed and will this disable anything on the Nvidia remote?

I set my shield to locked volume and I just use the tv to adjust

Doesn't Shield itself has its own vol controls?

Maybe. My 1st gen remote controls the volume of my AVR with the touch slider thingie, I assume it'd be the same if plugged directly into a compatible TV with HDMI-CEC. Not all implementations of HDMI-CEC are equal though, so it may work great, weirdly, or not at all. If the latter two, file a bug with nvidia, they'll probably add support or fix support in the next update (they did so for my LG AVR, CEC didn't work at all on the initial release, but I filed a big, sent them the model number, and they had 90% support on the next update, filed another bug and the point release a month later brought the last 10%).

Samsung TVs don't seem to implement it correctly.

I think Panasonic ones do.

My lg the didn't work either.

Which brand do you have? There is a site that lists correct implications, and Panasonic I think does most things correctly.
