Is there an easier way for me to connect my Bluetooth headphones to my Android TV? I can only get it to work after I pair my headphones with my shield.
After that, I have to unpair and then pair to get them connected to each other again.

I don't have to repair when I use mine. I have a generic pair from Amazon, they're nothing special.
Also, I haven't used them in 2 weeks, but I didn't have any audio lag on Vue, Netflix or HBO Now.
Damn, it must be because I am using them for multiple devices. I just wish there was a button in setting to “connect”.
On my phone or computer they connect instantly.

Try pressing play on the headphones. I had a sony pair that would not start getting audio until I pressed play.
I have the Bose QC35s they connect soon as I turn them on and if for any reason they don't, I can force them to connect from within the Bose Android app.
