The Stream+ is an Android TV box with integrated TV tuners, and it's available for pre-order

Cool idea, and probably cheaper, but I'll stick with my HDHomerun and Shield

Amazing to me that more manufacturers aren't building boxes for cord cutters that include tuners like this.

I've wanted something with this feature set for years, but I'll stay tuned for reviews.

Sold if the reviews are good. But I have doubts, they only list a "Quad Core ARM cpu" in the tech specs. Could be anything, but I'm guessing MediaTek. Also, no mention of Ram.

Very interested in this. I have a Mibox now and while it gets the job done, the quirks it has are like death by a thousand papercuts.

My main concern would be the support this box would have from "Channel Master" because Xaiomi left a poort impression with the Mibox in terms of fixes and updates. Also they say $99 is the "special introductory price" so how much is this thing going to be normally? Any more than like $110 and might as well spring for a shield.

Last review on this said it didn't have the license to work with Netflix or Prime yet. If it gets that, I might switch over to this thing .. or at least buy one of them to see how it works.

If Nvidia and HDHomerun had some kind of partnership, with a Shield 2018 version that had the HDHomerun tech built in with a tuner, they would totally dominate the field.

I expect we will see several devices come out of CES that are close but just won't quite be there yet.

I would be very interested in a version of this box with a DVB-T2 tuner rather than ATSC, so that it'll work in the UK.

Currently using a Raspberry Pi running tvheadend with a USB tuner, then a TVHeadend live channels app on my Nexus Player, which works fine but doesn't seem especially stable. A single box solution would be lovely!

I'm not sure if it works in Australia. I've sent a request to clarify.

I'm definitely picking up a new streaming device since my 1st gen firstick doesn't support ethernet/youtube. And my 1st gen Chromecast never works.

Right now Roku is my top choice but I'll wait till some devices get released in 2018 till I make up my mind. The included Tuner is cool but to be honest my TV has a digital tuner build in and I don't think I'd ever record anything OTA so I don't think I need that functionality. And my current apartment gets terrible OTA reception but it might be nice to have in the future.

The built-in tuners seem like a waste of time/money to me, looks overly large, and will probably never get an OS update given than Android 7.0 is 1 1/2 years old already. That said, this segment needs the competition.

This fills a very nice gap in the market. Now if we would just get a ~$50 device...
