Is there a way to change/update the default channels in the YouTube discover bar/app?

I have Android on my Sony TV, and on the YouTube discovery bar, the recommended channels are complete garbage, the first one being Logan Paul. I've never watched any of his videos, in fact, I've never see anything from anyone being shown in the discovery bar, and have no desire to ever watch any videos from there ever...is there a way to change it?

I agree! Annoyes me so much! I've lost all hope for Google to fix this; the recommendations bar is phased out in favor of the new Android O recommendations system. I have some hope those recommendations will get better... Another thing I am waiting for is a version of NewPipe (or another YouTube front end) that supports Android TV and fixes these (and more) annoyances. NewPipe has this somewhere on their roadmap, but no time indication has been given. Until then there are two options: bad recommendations or no recommendations (you can turn them off)
