How well can shield TV handle two BT headphones paired to it and is there anyway to see battery level for 3rd party BT on it?

I'm obviously only going to have one powered on and in use at a time but does it handle connections well when two are paired? Will it smoothly auto connect to it when powered on?

You can pair as many devices as you want, but streaming is limited to 1 device.

Shield TV is Bluetooth 4.0 and only allows streaming to 1 headset at a time. Bluetooth 5.0 is capable of streaming two devices at once but it requires software support. I believe Samsung is the only one who has this feature - http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/03/29/galaxy-s8-first-phone-bluetooth-5-can-stream-audio-two-bluetooth-devices/

As for battery level that would take software support, or the device using standards that Shield TV supports.

Two shouldn't be a problem, unless you're tying to play on both simultaneously? It'll connect to whichever one goes active last or you can choose between them in the settings I believe. The auto-connect depends on the headphones. Sometimes they'll stop searching for a BT source and go into standby. If you turn on both at the same time they should reconnect automatically.

Actually, Dish Hopper 3 and their Joey's are able to do two connected bluetooth headsets. Recently though, the 2nd headset has got static in it. Dish is aware of the issue, as it was a firmware update that broke it. But I am pretty sure neither my headsets, nor the Dish receivers have Bluetooth 5.
