Rooted Shield TV (2015)... What to do?

by ghostyroasty

I rooted my Shield TV because of Plex taking up all of the space on the internal drive, so I followed the tutorial at xda to root and move the media server over to the ssd. Everything works, and I also flashed SUhide to hide root from every other app that may block content if root was detected. I'd love to have custom channels for Plex, but I haven't quite figured it out yet, as I have found where you can put the channels, but they never appear in app. So that brings me to my question: If you have rooted, what have you done? I know you can block ads, but that is a non issue since I have Red.

PS4 Remote Play. Essentially lets you gamestream your ps4 to the Shield.

You don't have to have root to block ads..?

I hope that's not the only reason you did so?

I rooted to change the launcher to HAL. But after a while someone figured out how to hide leanback on Nougat without root, so at the moment the only thing I use root for is adaway and terminal.

I did play around with YouTube Vanced for a while, but changed back to ordinary youtube.
