my issue is it being intergrated into tv's
id rather buy a "dumb" TV with a great quality panel, and add a "smart" box to it
pretty sure my tv has smart features i never touched, and that made it cost more and probably costs more electricity to run
Nvidia easily, until I see a price tag.
I'm excited for the TCL 6 series, which will be using Android TV in Europe AFAIK.
Even with all the new announcements, it looks like the Nvidia Shield TV + a dumb TV is still the best option.
Although not many of us are a fan of smart TVs, and rightfully so, this is a great thing for all of us.
The more android TV in homes the more content distributors will pay attention to the platform. Many (US) channels still have apps that don't even have chromecast, just as many only have chromecast, and only a small handful actually have an android TV app.
Although I'll always swear by my nvidia shield, I happily support Walmart selling the piss out of smart tvs running Android.
