you've clearly done your research prior to purchasing.
Install Kodi if you run a media server, setup RetroArch with all the emulators for classic gaming (NES, SNES, Genesis, Arcade, PS1, GBA, etc.), install X-Plore for file manager, VLC for quick media viewing.
Setup the Plex Server on it, get a GeForce NOW subscription if you like to play games. Get a Google Mini to control it while you are away.
If you have roms of your favorite old games set up a emulator. If you play PC games and have a Nvidia gpu in a PC you can game stream with it. If you have your own video files you can view them from a network drive or USB with apps like KODI,SPMC and Plex. Dont forget to download all your favorite streaming apps..
Buy a Google home speaker and set it up so the shield is the default video and audio player

Take it out of the box and set it up.
