Skystream 2 owners.... Does it work well with a NAS drive on the network?

by Roshambo-RunnerUp

I was about to finalize my purchase of an Nvidia Shield when I received a pm about the Skystream 2. I hadn't really even considered or even heard of this box but it seems like a very good option, perhaps even better than the Shield, based on reviews and opinions.... At least ease of setup.

I have read that the Skystream 2 has problems with Netflix at HD resolution or higher. Is this true? More importantly, does the Skystream 2 play video files from a NAS without issue?

Doubt if you will find a single owner of that box here.

We are well aware it is the same old undifferentiated box of generic parts running an old version of tablet android that every other overhyped MLM company is selling.

Did they dare disclose the source of all their free tv, sports and movies is a program you can download free. Do you know this free, open source program will run equally well on a $22.88 tv box?

One valid point from your research is that it does, indeed, fail to stream HD Netflix. It is lumped in the category of boxes that Netflix deems unworthy. As such, it is limited to 480 resolution streams by decree of Netflix.

That you even dare to mention this POS overpriced box in the same breath as a Shield places your sense of discernment into question.

Drop this piece of junk like a hot potato and get a Shield.

Really hope you used higher reasoning when you bought your tv or you may even have problems with the Shield and Netflix, through no fault of the Shield.

Looks like an overpriced Android box. If you're not going to go with a legit Android TV device, then you can spend way less than that.

Put your question in /r/androidtvboxes, that's its place, because the OS is different.
