Sony X900e Switching Between TV and External Speakers?

I bought a Sony X900e TV about a month and a half ago. Everything is great so far except the audio - I've noticed that occasionally it will switch from using the audio system connected to my receiver to internal TV speakers.

It will do this multiple times in a "viewing session" - it happens for about 3 seconds and then switches back to the receiver speaker system. It will be fine for another 5 minutes or so and then do it again, and repeat.

Does anyone else have this issue? Any solutions? FWIW, my receiver is a Sony STRDH770.

Do you use HDMI CEC to control the receiver? If not, try turning it off in your receiver. It may have a different name because of marketing. On the TV, it's called Bravia Sync so you may want to look in those menus as well and see if a setting might be causing this.

I have the X900E for a week now hooked up to Sony 1050 receiver , I don’t have this problem .

I have a Denon 720W and it does weird things such as this on occasion. It's random and rare but it does happen.

How are the two connected? If it's bluetooth maybe you should try to wire it, preferably through the ARC input I would assume.

Or you could just try to redo the set up. I'm not sure how you would go about clearing the current configuration, as in clearing the cache and force quitting the "app" that handles those connections but I'm sure it's not too hard to figure out.

I would disconnect it and then restart the OS too. Unplug the tv (from electric) for like 10 minutes.

Maybe try another cable and see if it still does that? I use an optical cable to connect my soundbar to my X900e. Works well for me

I have an onkyo TX-NR646 and it does this from time to time as well.

my tv is the x850c but sounds like an ongoing sony issue

I've had my 65in X900E for just over a week now. Using it with a Samsung MS650 soundbar and it does this at least twice a day. It's getting annoying.

i have x900e connected to yamaha avr via ARC. no such problem so far
