Considering to buy the Mibox3 I’m asking can the device play a 4K HDR 10Bit video file using a usb external device,Like a disconkey? without any issues or limitations? Saw some posts folks having issues with the Mibox don’t recognizing the external storage
The MiBox is just barely powerful enough to playback 4K. It's really better as a 1080p device.
Don't be surprised if you experience some stuttering and dropped frames while trying to playback 4K HDR HEVC files.
As far as USB goes, the USB 2.0 port on the device is more than fast enough for this purpose. USB 2.0's max bandwidth is 480Mbps. In the real world though, with overhead, you generally top out around 300Mbps.
4K BluRay rips can range from 50-100Mbps, so USB 2.0 will be fine.
Just make sure that you are using a sufficiently fast hard drive or flash drive with read speeds faster than 100Mbps (12.5 MB/s)
