Except if you live outside the US in an assistant supported country, then somehow the shield doesn't have it.
This is all great but how about fixing basic issues first.
get my verbal request off the screen without having to use the remote.
stop hijacking requests from my other Home devices.
I just wish I could actually use my Google Home and it would understand I want the Assistant on my TV to do things.
Ex: I can't open Netflix from my GH, I have to use the Assistant Remote. If I activate 'OK Google' on my Shield, it's starts getting all mixed up with my GH..
They need to understand that.. or basically, I have to move my GH to another room but I use it as my alarm, etc. Stuff I don't think the Shield can do with a TV off.
No it doesn't.
Where's the Spot?
I honestly feel it's getting more retarded. This probably has to do with language settings though. I find that if voice stuff doesnt work at a high enough % I just dont use it. I hope deep learning will improve this area soon so that language quality is not dependent on developers native tounge. Shithole countries wants this feature too.
If only I could do common tasks like "play the office from netflix on the shield tv" or "play iron Man from Plex on the shield tv"... It baffles me that we still can't do that
Except for the mic.
I personally can't stand the behavior of Assistant on my Shield.
I originally fell in love with Shield because of the excellent voice search. Speak the same of something you want to watch, and it returned you matches across all content sources. No hassle.
Now, with the inclusion of Assistant, it tries to be all smart, and try to do things I don't want it to do, not giving me content search results.
I want the old search back.
