X900E wifi faster than wired

by Greg8642

I’ve been trying to trouble shoot my slow speeds on my android tv all day and have learned some things, but still don’t know what the problem is. Here goes, I’m paying for 120 mbps Internet. If I run a long Ethernet cable down into the basement I get about 80, if I use my power line adapter for a wired connection I get about the same, if I connect via 2.4 g wifi I get about 20, if I connect via 5 g wifi it goes all the way up to 108. I don’t know why. I also noticed that if I run a network status connection test with wifi everything succeeds, but if I run the same test with wired IPv6 internet connection fails. So I’m thinking it might have something to do with that. I’ve checked in my router to see if there are any settings I could change that might help. There don’t seem to be. I called my isp to see if they knew about anything. They didn’t. So I figure I’d ask here and see if you guys knew anything about this? Thanks for any replies.

Some part of your wired network connection is using 100mbps lan instead of 1gbps, which drags down the whole connection. Maybe a switch, your router, the cable, or it's possible the end point is only 100mbps too. Hope that helps.

Am not sure which is faster, but at least, a lan connection is more stable.
