X900E socks5 proxy?

Hi all, I’m trying to get the most speed out of my vpn and have discovered that both IPVanish and pia who I am currently subscribed to both offer socks5 proxy. I don’t know much about it, so I’m wondering. Is it possible to set this up on a Sony X900E? And if not would it be possible to just run it through kodi on the X900E? And if so, would it be adequate in protecting me from snoopers online? Thanks

Go into the WiFi settings on the tv. There is a section for proxy settings. Just add the proxy address, port, username and password (select 'requires authentication').

The best way is to have the VPN client on the router itself, that way everything in your network will be under the VPN. However, you usually need a high end router for maximum speed, I doubt the TV itself will have enough processing power to keep up with the VPN.
