Can someone with a Beelink GS1 explain to me how I'm supposed to use the Twitch App correctly?

by CrimsonKnightmare

Hi, I have the Beelink GS1 6K and I'm trying to use the Twitch app, but I can't seem to cycle down to the live broadcasts without switching to "mouse mode" on the remote and navigating the screen with a cursor (which is super annoying).

I have Android TV built into another TV in my house and I have no issues finding my way around the Twitch app, but through the Beelink it's next to impossible. I assume I must be missing something.

Also, the layout of the app is completely different. Is that normal? I assumed it would be identical.

It looks like you have an Android box, not an AndroidTV. The box is unfortunately made for a phone's touchscreen OS and not made for a TV.

If you can return it for a Mi Box, Shield, or discontinued Nexus then that would be best (for AndroidTV). Amazon's FireTV box is good too (not stick), or AppleTV.

Your generic Android box is running touchscreen Android, so it's got a phone/tablet version of the app installed. If you had an OS designed to be used with a remote (enter Android TV , an OS forked from Android to be optimized for the living room and remote control input) then you'd have the app designed for your television (which is what you're seeing on your legit Android TV device).
