Finally got an android box, but the iptv is giving me trouble. Can anyone give me advice?

by Kazman420

I have an X96 and an iptv service was included for the first month. It seems to work fine but if you are channel surfing the iptv service gets bogged down and sometimes crashes. Or more frequently it has a sync problem matching sound to video. However the sync links back up everytime Im in the preview/guide window. So because it always syncs back up i feel lile this isnt a slow wifi problem it is a setting i need to change. That and Netflix hasnt had a problem with bufferring at all. Am I rambling, does anyone get what im saying? I have a feeling i may have to contact the iptv people about their service. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, but wrong place. It's not an AndroidTV. It's a generic box with Android phone OS (made for phones with touchscreens).

If it wasn't bought on purpose (it gets confusing), I'd suggest you return it of an official AndroidTV device (Mi Box, Shield, discontinued Nexus), FireTV, or AppleTV.

This sub is for discussing the Android TV operating system that Google forked from Android. It's optimized to work in the living room with a remote control as input.

What you've bought is a TV box that runs regular touchscreen Android (which is meant for phones/tablets). The software on these generic boxes is not the greatest, even if the hardware is somewhat decent. And there's little reason to support the customer after they've got your money, which is extra problematic when there are dozens of versions of these boxes that come with all kinds of different pre-loaded services. If something breaks, then what? And besides the threat of malware being installed, I just can't recommend people taking a chance on these junk boxes. Stick to products from names you trust like Google, ASUS, NVIDIA, Sony, etc.

Try the Perfect Player app for the IPTV service.
