Noticed my netflix sucked and didnt work until I closed all other 3rd party apps. Is there an app I can download from the app store that would make this easier than going through settings?

I'm not sure if hold functionality is available with an IR remote.
If it is, press and hold the "home" button and you will go into card view (similar to phones). Scroll to the app you want to close and hit "dismiss". This will close the selected app(s).
There might be a setting in Developer Options. Something about limiting background processes.
