Today YoutubeTV was released for Roku and AppleTV but it still can’t be installed on various Android TV devices including the mibox. I give up on my mibox and AndroidTV. Google obviously doesn’t care about the platform and it appears Xiaomi will never update this device.
Most probably Xiaomi Mi Box is missing crucial DRM or have problem with their VP9 codec, that's why maybe Google is not supporting it. Every other Android TV device in US have YTTV.
So apparently its just the mibox that is out of date. Oh well mine is now on ebay and I’m getting another roku when it sells. What a shame for such a great piece of hardware
YouTubeTV is available on the Shield, Nexus player, and many Sony AndroidTVs. Pretty much everything BUT the mibox.
Weird considering they are still updating it.
