High Bitrate 4K REMUX's need Gigabit Ethernet to get all that data into the box without playback stuttering. Or you can direct connect a Hard drive into a box.

.

The Mi Box has SPDIF but no Ethernet port. It's Marshmallow Firmware does not support HDR either. It can playback 4K 10bit HEVC video content using Hardware video decoding.

You have to use a Ugreeen USB3 > Gigabit ethernet adapter or their USB3 > Gigabit adapter / USB Hub - with the Mi Box to even attempt high bitrate 4K video streaming.

You still will not get 5.1 audio from Netflix over SPDIF. The Netflix Android TV App needs a HDMI connected DD+ audio receiver for 5.1 Netflix audio.

The other option is the DIY unofficial Android TV ROMs such as on this Gigabit Ethernet, SPDIF, HDR capable - decent quality Tanix TX92 (AMLogic S912):

You will not get 720p or even 1080p Netflix from such a box due to it having no L1 DRM or HDCP. Copy protected video streaming will not work properly or stream at a max. 480p resolution. Chromecasting will not work either.

However such a S912 box can dual boot and run a Kick Ass version of LibreELEC Kodi Krypton that will then give you the best SDR <<==>> 4K HDR Kodi Krypton platform going around. Better than anything 4K HDR Kodi Android.

Mi Box had spdif output. It can play 4k but will have a hard time with 10bit files.

I think the 2015 shield has a spdif output. The new model doesn't.

I was in the same place as you since my old reciever doesn't have HDMI. The Mi Box is the only android box with optical out. But be warned, 4k playback is not flawless with movies, so I imagine even less for 60fps videos

Thanks everyone for all the tips and all the advices, Im thinking maybe building htpc from some hardware scraps, since I don't think any tv box will be able to deliver the exceptions I have.

Why do you need spdif? Does your tv not support ARC? In any event, this is not an optimal solution, but you could try a USB to spdif that has mainline kernel support. It's called a cm106 device. But then again if you're just looking for anything to function as a streaming media play with spdif, check out any of the libre elec compatible (RasPi like) boards. Some are as cheap as $20 and a spdif hat maybe another 10.

I'm no expert but I don't think you're going to find this. Shield TV might be the only option.

Edit: looks like you might be able to find some Chinese boxes that handle 4k60:
