Anyone gotten Aussie FTA tv streams to work on a Mi Box?

by pink-pink

Got a Mi box for my parents, as they have tv signal problems, but their internet is good.

Thought it would be straight forward to put the Freeview app on there and they would be set. No such luck unfortunatly.

I did manage to get it sideloaded, but it crashes on startup.

anyone got any other ideas?

Yeah, video add ons for Kodi. There are some good tutorials, and I think the site that hosts them is aussieaddons.com or something like that.

Are the signal issues their area or just antenna related?

nothing really will be a solution, i know that TPG had the channels as IPTV available to certain areas but i think it was adsl2+ only, if you can get an antenna booster you might be able do do something but androidtv offerings from the networks are in the form of horrible apps with no live channels integration support (9 and 7 only atm)

Currently you can get TenPlay via Play Store and iView via sideload, but otherwise you'd want to look at Kodi addons via the TV-Addons repository.

Both of the native apps need a fair bit of work anyway. I suspect widespread support will pop up later this year due to the Foxtel Now Box.

Another option is to install puppetmaster tv and load the REKODI repo tag.
