Expand Mi Box storage with Micro SD card?

by ICIA56

I will be purchasing a xiaomi mi box to replace my cheap android box, which I've expanded it's storage using a Micro SD card.

With the single USB port on the mi box, is it possible to expand the storage with Micro SD card, while having an Ethernet connection using an adapter?

Notes:

  • I plan to use this [usb hub]( http://www.UGREEN.com/ Ethernet Adapter USB Gigabit Network Adapter 10/100/1000Mbps/1 Gbps with USB 3.0 Hub 3 Ports for Nintendo Switch, Wii, Windows Surface Pro, MacBook Air/Retina, iMac Pro, Chromebook, and More PC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LLUEJFU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_3lKIAbWQDT4EF ) for Ethernet connection. I'm open to suggestions of other adapters that would allow me to connect the Ethernet (priority), and storage expansion.
  • Nvidia shield is not an option as it is simply too expensive in my country.
  • My typical usage of the mi box would strictly be Kodi, Netflix, YouTube, Spotify.
  • I don't watch anything above 1080p quality.

How do you guys expand your mi box storage? Is it even necessary to do so?

Can't be done. It's a limitation of Android 6. It limits the usefulness of the MiBox not having it. A Kodi install with a good sized collection of media can almost fill the remaining 5gb of space by itself. There are even some Android games that take up over 1gb so it could run out of space very quickly.
