It has native support for Hindi language and others. Some of your desired apps may be geo-blocked but that applies to all platforms, not specific to MiBox model MDZ-16-AB. Try one of the reputable aliexpress.com sellers to avoid any confusion among the many Xiaomi boxes incorrectly touted as 'international' or 'upgraded'. You can buy for $US69 from legit sources there. Shipping normally included.
I have couple of MI boxes and it works well. Prime video is not available but side loading the apk from NVidia Shield works fine for 1080p titles.
Mi Box user from India! It works perfectly but as other said some apps (generally US-centric) are Geo-blocked but trust me you don't even need them in India. Netflix works just fine, Prime Video can sideloaded. You can even install some Fire-TV exclusive apps like Gaana, etc.

I think it is more app-specific when it comes to being regionally locked. That might include what is on GooglePlay.
You should get confirmation on what I said, but if true than VPN and/or Sideloading might be had.
