So got kids around. They tinker with everything including remotes. I think they broke it. The buttons work but hit the wrong command. Volume down hits power mode. Is it possible to fix this is settings or is the remote a toss? Any recondition on what I could replace it with?
If you contact xiomi customer service they will sell you a new one. My kids lost mine and they charged me less that 20 dollars..
Try fixing it, at worst you have to replace it.
Main tv in my house has a Mi Box hooked up it and twice kids have spilled liquids on it. First time the remote was working, but I decided to open and clean it to be safe. Worked fine aftewards. A month ago the remote stopped working. Again opened it up, found water and cleaned it thoroughly. Worked again afterwards.
Just keep in mind it has a lot of small screws. It also uses clips to hold the case together so don't use a lot of force to get it apart. Don't use a lot of water to clean (just moist) but clean everything and then make sure it's dry before you put it together again.
My dog ate mine, we replaced it with a Fire TV remote that we had on hand, it's nice because it's still bluetooth based, just loses the volume and mic buttons which we never used anyway.
