So what is Channels? The article didn't really explain it.

Yeah I'll pass. I've currently got my hdhomerun going through an old Windows 7 PC, with Kodi as the front end on my mibox... Total cost = 0 (ok $30 for my cable subscription)... Why would I pay $25 for an app and then shell out $8 a month for DVR that I have to host locally anyway? I understand the fee is for the epg data but I can get that for free also....

Bodycount9

I just use the hdhomerun app for a quick view of a program. Live channels does hdhr and Pluto tv. But I find the Pluto tv app easier to navigate.

So there's no reason to buy this app at least for me. If it could tie in streaming services like Psvue channels then maybe.

I'm not understanding what this does better than Live Channels...

Why people are still paying a premium for commercial ridden programming is beyond me..?

Remove the ads then maybe, maybe, you'll get some of my $$$.

All the money I save on BS subscriptions, I buy the physical media I prefer & never have to worry about any streaming or other service removing my FAV shows all while remaining commercial free in my media consumption.

Still no DVR, and even then $8/mo? The HDHR DVR sub is less than half that cost and Kodi (Free, as opposed to $25) works great with it as a DVR. Not seeing the benefit here unless I'm missing something.

I see this as nice if you want one interface and you have a variety of devices. Except they don't offer an Android (non-TV) app. That would be perfect for Chromebooks and the like...

This reminds me of my favorite FREE app...TV Mosaic

Can I Add channels for my OTA Antenna from my Hdhomerun OTA and also had my Cable Channels from my Hdhomerun prime?

Does it ? Channel's App ( when I go into the Guide it actually shows me the ota channels PBS-CBS-ABC-FOX-NBC-CW and then all the cable networks from HDprime. )

( Warning I Ramble a Little Down below and might go off topic to save you Don't Read .)...................... ............. ............. ............. .....,,..... This is something ( one of many )that annoys me about the current Google live channels app which doesn't allow you to select a tuner Device on OTA and prime and use them together . Not all on prime .

For clarifying I like the ota channels better in my opinion it's way better and 1080p true or 720p true and not compressed and a better experience especially during sports games who agrees with me ?

I wish there was an option to get un compressed cable Tuner's .

I like the free app TV Mosaic from DVBLink which does the same thing.

Is the Homerun Prime as nice as it sounds? Can't find any great reviews on it. I saw that DVR service is extra $30 a year and includes 1 year of guide service. If you don't get DVR, do you have to pay for a guide?

Can you use IPTV with this?

HoothootNeverFlies

Ir doesn't seem to support the dvb t2 version of the wintv-dual hd tho, any recommendations for an app that does that?

Does this fix the jerky playback I get with Live channels and the HD Homerun app? I don't get jerky live TV with Plex, so I assume it's the software.
