ShieldTV - Resolution of Stream info/stats

So lot of people complaining about DirecTV Now stream resolution being sub par and I was wondering if there was a way to check what resolution you're getting. It's possible on FireTV from what I know so was wondering if anyone knew how to check.

Sideloaded APK is working fine but I do notice the stream isn't as good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The resolution of the broadcast stream is unknown to the shield. The application layer makes all the hardware calls for rendering and scaling it to the output / display resolution.

Without a feature within the application, you're unlikely to get any extra information
