So for example, the household has 2 television sets and one Xiaomi Mi Box hooked up to one of the TVs. Both TVs are not "smart", so in order to watch things on the second TV, it needs to be hooked up to another smart device. Mi Box was chosen cause the first TV has a 5.1 system, and Mi Box has an optical audio out. So I'm considering Chromecast for a second TV since it only has HDMI and built-in speakers.
But except for Mi Box, there's no androids in the household lying around, only an iPad device, so the Chromecast is basically limited by the iPad software selection with the Chromecast support, right? I've got a feeling that's not much, especially since some apps aren't on iOS at all.
That's why I was wondering, are the usual Chromecasting features of Android are still somewhere in the Android TV? Or if not, is there a way to activate them? Or are there any third-party solutions?
I have a hard time googling this cause all the results are obviously about the reverse - casting TO an Android TV. And I don't have access to the Mi Box and a Chromecast to test things out.
Most of the apps that support Google Cast on Android also support it on iOS.
