Looks like a Mi Box, same specs as USA Mi Box just using a slightly different remote. I'm sure the old remote will work just fine as well.
Looks like Oreo is coming pretty soon then once Netflix, and others get their act together for Android TV ;-)
Can someone explain why we can't just develop a custom rom like lineage os and upgrade our boxes that way? They're pretty much available for every phone.
Are you sure this is the existing box? Looks like a revised version with new remote, watch them abandoned the one we have.
Damn I just bought a Mi box
Mi Box jumping to Android 8.x would be awesome but I have no faith in this whatsoever. They burned us on Nougat, no way should we ever expect Oreo. Maybe on a next-gen Mi Box it'll ship with it but that's about it.
You can see right there the Security level says August 5th 2017. So even that is very outdated with Oreo anyway. Linux kernel 4.9.54 is interesting though.
Why would one this when the Mii 2 was pretty much abdandoned at launch? This was not a good product even at the low price point.
Thicker remote. Looks good. Still on August 2017 security update though. Guess the Chinese don't care much about security. Hopefully HDR, frame rate switching, and all the audio codecs work.
