interested in using android tv for my old samsung tv

hey im interested in using android tv for my old samsung tv. because of our satellite dish i cant watch tv normally so it would be nice if there is a possibility to watch german tv streams or something. im also using amazon prime video and netflix and sometimes i used kodi on my raspberry pi. anything in mind i could use as starter? doesnt have to be high end only something to watch netflix in 1080p etc. without lags

For prime, your best bet is Amazon Fire Box (the stick is kind of laggy). You can sideload Kodi with it. Mi Box is also great but doesn't have Prime yet.

Aside from all the caveats discussed below, your old samsung tv may be the limiting factor. With the potential lack of DRM capacity, you may have better results with devices that are more forgiving as to DRM requirements than official AndroidTV devices.

Suggest you consider AmazonTV or Roku devices which support Netflix in HD with no complications.
