So Mi Box has YouTube TV now? Or should be coming soon. That's great. Still needs the Oreo update they showed off, or at least the Nougat one the promised.

Edit: YouTube TV seems to now be available on Google Play.

This update also prevents you from sideloading apks (at least from local network - I haven't tried from USB). This was mentioned in other threads, but not in this one yet. Not sure why they did that....

I was just watching Formula E practice 2 on youtube, I see that stream is 1280x720 with 30fps, my TV is set to 1920x1080 at 60fps. I can see that video is not so fluid as I would like, especially for sporting events, is there anything I can do to improve this? My TV doesn't have 30 fps option and even after this update, video is not fluid enough. If anyone wants to check, streams are here! and race is in 5h

EDIT: I have checked some other video on youtube, but with 60 fps and picture is so much smoother :(

Maybe someone in US could comment on sideloading non ATV apps after 1901 update

So we assume that this device is all but forgotten and then see updates like this.

One has to wonder what exactly Xiaomi's strategy is with this device going forward.

I can't seem to download the update, it'll get stuck on "Waiting to download". I'm running the latest Nougat beta.

Got nervous after reading this but thankfully Youtube TV is working well for me.

I have a U.S. MiBox on the standard firmware OS 6.01. Spotted just by chance and installed the YouTube TV firmware update OTA the other day. Then was able to install YTTV from my MiBox's Google Play Store in normal fashion. YTTV now plays just fine via my MiBox!!!! And I thought it was dead and forgotten.

BTW, the first time I clicked to download the OTA update, it also as someone mentioned above seemed stuck on 0% downloaded for quite a while, so I went away from that screen, and then came back later, it was already well into the download. So have a bit of patience, since for some reason it seems to take some time to get going.

Also, re the sideloading apps comment above, I've been sideloading some additional apks via USB stick today, and most of them installed and ran fine on the MiBox. But a few, and I'm not sure why, loaded to install but then the "Install" button remained grayed out.

Well that's just great. They fix YouTube TV not even a week after prices were raised from $35 to $40. I didn't sign up early because it wasn't working. Wonder if Google had anything to do with the fix coming out after the price increase.

I checked the Google store and now it's there ready to install. Have to search for it.
