The only way around I found is a Win remote for Logitech Harmony smart home hub (you could probably do the same with any smart home hub).
It's ridiculous that there isn't a chrome plugin to control ATV...
Maybe install an Android emulator and then use the Android app?
Otherwise if I'm on a Windows machine, I'll just cast my content from Chrome.
