Any suggestions for a portable android TV?

by FreshmanYo

I will be traveling a lot and will not have internet in most destinations but will have TVs with hdmi ports. My goal is to have an android TV connected to a 512gb flashdrive with every episode of my favorite TV shows. I want to autoplay my tv show episodes on a shuffle mode so i get the experience of tv-like quality where i can watch mutiple random episodes of tv shows and fall asleep to it. Does anyone have experience with such a setup or have any reccomendations?

Closest you'll get is a plugin in Kodi for that "TV channel surfing" experience. So just buy a Shield TV (preferably the 500GB model if you can find it and ever consider jumping to using Plex server, but the 16GB will be fine for Kodi) and stick your flash drive into that. Shield TV is about the size of two smartphones so it's pretty portable.

Plenty of Android dongles that will do what you want.

Most TVs will take any USB media drive as input...

Otherwise, take a laptop with hdmi port, or a chromecast...

Kodi + PseudoTV(I don't know if that addon still works but it sounds like what you are asking for)
