How can I connect the Mi Box to a good old stereo system without any fancy inputs?

by LiamGallagher10

I used to have a WD tv live hub and that had the white and red cables for audio and hdmi or yellow cable to the TV.

The Mibox has no rca cables, so how can I listen to music with it? Any suggestions?

From a quick search it looks like you could use a 3.5mm headphone to red white rca cable.

This linked thread talks about the issue you’re having mi box audio output

If your receiver takes toshlink get that, otherwise get the 3.5mm to red/white and according to the info in this thread either should work.... hopefully.

monoprice example of what I’m talking about

Many TV's have analog audio output. That's how I do it with my MiBox. MiBox-Tv with HDMI. Tv-Stero with Red n White RCA

You are looking for HDMI audio extractor. They have HDMI input, and HDMI and audio outputs. HDMI output goes to TV, audio goes to receiver.
