I wonder how would Amazon release a dedicated Prime Video for Android TV while it's not supported! I contacted customer support and got the following feedback regarding my Mi Box 3 not capable of playing back content except the trailers as for DRM rights and when device is registered it's not showing in my registered devices section:
"From your email I understand that you are unable to stream Prime videos on your Mi Box 3 (Android 6).
I'm really sorry for the inconvenience caused in this regard.
I understand that you are trying to stream Prime videos on your Mi Box 3 (Android 6), I'm sorry to inform you that the Mi Box 3 (Android 6) is not a supported device for Prime videos."
How would they release an app for Android TV while Android TV based devices are not supported?!
Here is a list of supported devices: https://www.primevideo.com/help/ref=atv_hp_nd_cnt?nodeId=202064920
Any ideas?
This is 100% Amazon's Fault, they dont want competition for the Fire Stick..
Want to sell your streaming device on Amazon.com? Ok fine, it must support Prime Video, does it directly compete with FireTV? Oh then you dont get Prime Video, and thus cant sell on Amazon.com.
Amazon is the worst thing to happen to Android IMO.
