What do you think of these?

Do you think the CPU (ARM A53 Quad Core/1.2GHz) and GPU (Mali-T860) will cut it for Kodi?

Opinions?

It's likely a variant of the MediaTek MT5596/5597, which is up to spec for 4k60fps and HDR.

It's no superstar chip, but it's good enough for the OS and Kodi.

Just keep in mind the LCD panel doesn't read well, and that Hisense will be supporting Android TV in their 2018, along with TCL, who are looking to push into the AU market. Might be best to see how their ranges stack up, especially given Kogan's not great with software updates.

Failing that, you can just grab a TV of your choice and import a Mi Box, or grab that new Vodafone box. Plenty of ways to dive into the ecosystem.

Huh, at first I thought this was going to be a generic Android box (Kogan has sold those before, according to google), but this actually is a real certified Android TV (TV set). I'm guessing this is an Aussie market only thing, but still great to see more options for the platform pop up.

EDIT: do we have an international list of official devices?

Those TVs are mostly Skyworth Android TV, check the input selection icons on the home screen, exactly the same.

Quite a few Android TV brands are just rebranded Skyworth.

And it's not said in a bad way, I think they are quite good.
