So I just bought some 3D glasses because I quite enjoyed some movies in 3D on my old TV. The problem is I can't activate 3D mode.

This seems to be a common problem on Sony and from what I've gathered there was a work around to no 3D button on the remote which was to just buy an old remote or download one on your phone.

But apparently in the update to Marshmallow this work around was shut down and no longer works. As far as I know we have the 7th version of AndroidTV and as I doubt they have any interest in fixing it I'm looking for a solution.

I figured this would be the place to ask for a solution. If anyone knows how to gain total control over the TV or maybe there's an App that bypasses this or perhaps I could rollback to AndroidTV 5.1.

Any help or possible solution it would be greatly appreciated.
