I need to install android tv apps on a device that does not have access to the android tv app store. I know there are lots of 3rd party "mirror" sites where one can download regular apk'sfor android, but is there a 3rd party site where i can download apk's sepcifically for android tv so i can then sideload them? thanks
I don't know any androidTV specific mirror but you may search on those normal mirror sites by searching android tv.
For example, AptoideTV and apkmirrorDOTcom has many androidTV apps.

You could Yalp Store and set the device to an NVidia Shield TV 2015. That should help give you the ability to download free Android TV specific APKs, and you could use your own credentials to download purchased items.

you can try apkmirror.com and search for "Android TV" and look for any android tv specific apk you need
