MiBox & TP-Link VR600 Conflict?

by Ntress

I just changed my home router to TP-Link VR600 and there is an issue with my wired MiBox which I never had.

When I plug the ethernet cable between the streamer and the router I got a "connected" notification and then after like 20 seconds it get disconnect and so the loop continues. I have no problems while on WiFi.

Also, I have another MiBox so I tried it too and it's the same. I also tried changing the cable and the port but nothing helps.

Anyone got an idea why it's happening?

What are the model numbers of your MiBoxes?

Try a different Ethernet cord. Also make sure there are no loose connections (including a broken/loose tabs on the heads of the cable)

If that doesn't fix it, try connecting a computer or a different device (other than the Mi Box). If that loses connection than could be the router. Could also be the wall connectors, but not too likely since wifi appears to be fine.

Connect your phone to the wifi and monitor if it drops. My Ethernet on Mi Box generally doesn't reconnect if dropped (needs a restart). The wifi does reconnect. It's much more noticeable for drops using my Ethernet.

Also, it never hurts to check/restall any firmware update to your router.
