I can do this with my hdhomerun prime without the app and record. It's built into live channels app.
do you have to use the 'network tuner' source on live channels? or the hdhomerun source now works? because no matter what i do, can't get the network tuner source to show up.
What's the limit on how long a channel can be paused?
Is the update for live channels or what? I have a shield I just checked it's still as it was.
As an aside, I have a Sony Bravia 700D and we use the built in TV and guide apps as the layout is more convenient for our household and it allows use of the Guide and TV buttons on the remote.
Just checked today and the timeshifting functionality is also enabled on Sony's apps using the HDHomeRun app as a tuner source. This is on the Nougat release on this TV. Also with just the built in storage, no external disk(s).
Glad they've finally added this. One of the biggest grips I've had with the Network Tuners app that never seems to have been resolved is proper audio bitstreaming to an external audio receiver. Always seemed to downmix to 2.0 PCM.
Update notes say it needs 1.5 GB of RAM to do so - I haven't tested Live Channels on my Nexus Players yet (only have 1GB of RAM), but it's working on my SHIELD
