You have the real playstore. Google Play for AndroidTV maybe sad looking in terms of the number of apps and Google may not have finished it (few categories, no ratings or reviews, poor seach, etc)... but that is the real store.

Your complaint is actually towards the app developer . They need to make that app for AndroidTV in order for you to get it for AndroidTV. Until then, you can extract you APK from your phone and sideload it to your AndroidTV. Keep in mind though, that app may not function well or be hard to use because it was made for Android phones/tablets.

If you're just talking about the Play Store app on the device itself, then just install remotely via the web.

The app for Android TV is heavily curated and the search barely works. I use the website for every app install.

The non TV version of Google Play store will not work on your Mi Box (I know this because I tried the very same thing on my Nvidia Shield TV). Both the regular and TV versions of Android are mutually exclusive and designed specifically for their respective operating systems.

Secondly, yes you can sideload whichever paid apps you have installed on other Android devices. However, to do that you will have to utilize some means of installing them. You can try using Puffin browser (made for Android TV) and, once installed, do a Google search for Aptoide TV. Then once you've downloaded and installed Aptoide TV, you can search for whatever paid versions of apps you have and install them at will. I've personally done this for several non TV paid apps that I have.

After having done these things however you will run into the issue of being able to navigate in the apps you've installed since they were designed for regular Android devices using a touch interface. To get around this problem you will have to invest in a wireless airmouse.
