Mi Box vs Television Volume

by bigtomhandshaw

I can control the volume on both my Mi Box and my TV seperately. So what's the best way to control the volume? Put the Mi Box at full volume and actually control the volume with the TV, or put both at mid levels of volume?

I set my Mibox volume to max, then turn my tv up to the loudest I want to go then only use the Mibox remote to control the volume. I'm not a fan of using multiple remotes and this way I only have to use the Mibox remote.

Set your MiBox volume settings to "Fixed" so that only the TV volume changes.

Doesn't really matter. I prefer max for Mi Box and then I use my TV for volume.

It depends on how the speakers you use vary with their own volume settings.

If they de-amplify properly, then you're saving some power when you turn them down instead of the software volume on the Mi Box.

In my experience MiBoxs volume doesn't matter. It's going to bounce around between what you have it set to and Max at random.

It's really only 1 of 2 thing that bother me.

The other thing is that I can't cast YouTube videos. YouTube pops up and the video appears but never plays.

The MiBox volume is digital and the TV volume most likely controls an amp.

So yeah set the MiBox at max and control the volume of your tv.

Ideally the MiBox and TV should communicate via HDMI CEC like the Nvidia Shield does, but MiBox is crap.

Plug it in to an AV receiver. Then put that up loud and use the mibox....

That's just me maybe
