MDZ-16-AB Oreo New Feature **DROID SETTINGS**

When I first took a cursory look at the Oreo update on my MiBox MDZ-16-AB I was dismayed at the seeming lack of critical settings.

There is a new, important feature called Droid Settings that gives access to those missing settings. It appears on the home screen.

Here is a screen capture of the major elements that are covered under Droid Settings. Please note, my updated MiBox is currently connected to a 1080 res projector. Your options may differ based on your connected screen.

HDR, finally.

Unless it's a pixel shifting projector, 8 million pixels (4k) wont appear even if the settings is 2160p. Most projectors will simply downscale it to 1080p

Hey can you share the update file ?

I see no reason to stick on old software when newer one with better security and features is available.

Any sign of the Amazon Video App being officially supported

Is there any way the Mi Box can do HDR to SDR conversion on the fly in 4K playback?

That would be pretty cool. I'm one of those dumb asses who bought a 4K TV just before HDR became standard. I have access to a ton of 4K blu ray rips, but they all utilize 10-bit color of course and look washed out on any SDR color display without some sort of color downsampling.

I guess if real time HDR to SDR conversion happens to be a feature of the chip it might be possible? Maybe it doesn't take as much graphic processing power as I'm imagining it does.
