Android TV App for Reddit

by BuzzLima

Other than HopWatch (which costs money and I don't know how good), is there any other alternative Reddit viewer for Android TV?

I mainly wanted to watch GIFs, pictures, and some videos. It would be nice if the picture shows up as slider gallery.

Or is there anyone would like to develop a new app ? I am happy to pay for your time.

I found an open source. But I think this one is outdated not maintained anymore? Can anyone make use of it?

If you would like to develop a new app, please contact me. Thanks.

It's interesting you're willing to pay for a developer but not HopWatch. Do you know how much it costs to develop an app?

Based on what you want you use it for, I can vouch for HopWatch for multimedia on ATV. Can add any subreddits and even set the sort order for individual subreddits. I also have a channel set up for top videos across Reddit using a YouTube.com domain. And it integrates with the recommendations row on ATV.

Only downside is that YouTube doesn't allow for signed in viewing through 3P apps so if you have Red, you'll be exposed to ads. But still worth it since most viral videos don't have monetization.

Worth the few bucks IMO.

Haven't used Hopwatch in over a year, the reason I couldn't get into it is because I had to manually start each video after one finished. It did not automatically move to the next video.

Hopwatch is a great app imo. I could care less about autoplay since i dont want to watch every video and it only takes a second or two to move from video to video
