I hope the last line is true: "it looks like Google is finally ready to put its weight behind this platform and give it all the improvements and attention it deserves."
Allowing consumer customization is the most important thing, imo. That's a big reason why Android took such a large chunk of the phone market.
Let me get rid of the horrible infinite scroll rows and change the background at least. Let customized launchers be enabled (default) and maybe allow disabling of voice so I can text search faster. And allow 3rd party software keyboards, Google's isn't very good.
AndroidTV seriously doesnt need much to dominate the market.
Things i would kill to see in a box
Add those features and it would replace every box on most TV's and you would never have to leave the ATV ecosystem
