Dream Set Top box set-up, how to get Wireless Xbox360 controllers working.

by HarvsG

So with the new SteamLink app for Android on the horizon I see a way to have a dream all in one set top box. Android TV with on demand apps, Steam Link app for gaming and Kodi for everything else. However, the only barrier to this perfect set up is finding a set top box that supports Xbox 360 wireless controllers (I have the dongle) and ideally a wireleess keyboard and mouse. Has anyone had any luck with this?

I used to use the Xbox 360 controller with the dongle. It was plug and play more or less. You need to pair Plug with the Controller. Once that is complete it will work, but the center Xbox button will flash.

This was on a Nexus Player (Stock ? Android 6?)

I use these with my Shield and it's plug and play for the most part. No setting anything up for basic use.

Depending on the application or game you may need some setup. For steam and native Android games it's been plug and play for me. A couple of emulators needed setup.

You should check out this thread for pairing.

My Shield works well with 360 controllers. The player indicator never resolves, but everything still works.
