Steam Link App Released

Wasn't aware this was for Android TV as well!

Wondering how it'll compare to Nvidia Gamestream on Shield. Always felt the Steam Link device was a lot less responsive for streaming, but native Steam Controller support seems sweet.

Can I add the steam link controller to the NVidia shield? Man I feel so old right now!

Anyone tried it on Mi Box yet?

switch_laser

Tried on the MiBox. When the stream starts it only shows on my laptop screen. Other than that, menus and such work well with my Nexus controller.

Can Steam link do multiple controllers? Multiplayer couch games is mostly what I'd use on TV.

Would it be possible to use the Xbox 360 wireless controller adapter with the Mi Box USB port and the Steam Link App? Thinking of buying a Mi Box and install the Steam Link App.

Nice. Time to test responsiveness for /r/Dota2!

Working well on my box, nice! What a great extra functionality to extend the life of this little guy.

Using the Steam Link app on the Shield TV app is fine; however, I can't access the steam menu.

When I'd use Nvidia Gamestream I'd access it by holding start/Pause and then clicking on the Steam symbol.

I'd stick to regular Gamestream but for some reason the Shield controller won't be detected by some games. The Steam Link app will allow me to play those games with the controller.

Example: Red Faction Guerilla and Spec Ops: The Line. Both work fine with Steam Link but not game stream.

Gamestream shortcut stopped working for me the other day onthe shield tv after I got the newest win 10 update. This is timely. Hopefully it works well.

Anyone try this on a 2015 Sony Bravia? I assume it works like ass kinda like the rest of ATV on this set but I am curious.

Can this XBox One controller be connected to Android TV via Bluetooth?

And does it work correctly (button mappings) with Steam Link?

tb21666

So a wireless DS4 with the BAC app to correct latency has been tested by how many of you by now..?

Thanks for sharing, I was looking forward to this as I so love to be able to play some games on my 40 inch tv.

Installed this on my Philips Android TV and it works great, didn’t have a steam or Bluetooth controller but the TV picked up a wired 360 pad when I plugged it in. My TV is wired and connected to the PC upstairs with 100mb power line adapters there was the occasional lag spike but on the whole it was great, wouldn’t want to try it over WiFi with my setup though.

Even on my 2nd gen Fire TV Stick, it works pretty good (5Ghz, fast mode. 1080,HEVC) Although I was using my Dualshock 4 connected to the host PC, as I can't connect it to the FTV stick.

Was able to clear a few levels in super meat boy without issues, which is my go to latency test.

Anyone tried comparing this to moonlight on the mibox?

doronn89

anyone had an issue with miBox + xbox one controller where the input is not registered correctly? For example right trigger button opened some menu or just did nothing...

pbturned

Maybe a stupid question, but can you use the nvidia shield controller to play a steam game using this? Or is it just to mirror it to you tv?
