Youtube closes when video starts on Philips 40put6400.

This doesn't happen every time I try to watch a video but does happen enough to be super annoying. When I open a video the ads play as normal but when the actual content loads the whole app closes and I'm back on the main Android TV screen.

Any ideas how to stop this happening? I've uninstalled updates, factory reset and so on.

Android TV version: 5.1.1 Youtube version: 2.02.14

I have the exact same model and the exact same problem. This didn't happen to me on previous versions.

Literally the same shit on the Nvidia Shield. I’m so tired of my Youtube closing constantly.

2.x YT (webview app) never worked for me. sitting pretty on the old one, sorry you don't like it. i get the sense that the YT team doesn't care about ATV's on 5.x.
