[HELP] I sideloaded Nogat beta on my MiBox and now I can't upgrade to Oreo

Hello, I sideloaded Nougat beta on to my US MiBox (to fix stuttering on Netflix) and now I can't upgrade to Oreo. Tried factory restarting but it kept me on 7.0. I found a downgrade but it seems like it only works on the international version :(

The US version of the Mi Box is the international version.

You have two options:

Though to be clear, there is no public release of Oreo on the Mi Box , simply a closed beta for those who are part of the original (pre-release) Mi Box beta program. If you're seeing updates, it's likely because it's trying (and failing) to install a more recent MM build.

Oreo hasnt been released how do you know you cant upgrade?

Xiaomi is shit, they haven't released anything. I'm guessing it was just a marketing stunt and fake news.

If you want to downgrade to 6.0 without losing DRM, you have to back up your kernel partition and restore it after flashing. There are details on this subreddit (remember typing it up using a different account), and also on XDA.

You will be able to upgrade to 8 from 6.0 when the time comes. Now (May 24th), the Oreo builds are only available OTA for beta devices.
